Yup, that’s right: positions once reserved for corner offices are now popping up on your favorite job boards—no stale office coffee required. Wells notes that “in the last quarter, remote jobs that pay $250,000 and above spiked for the first time to 18% of all available roles.” She also points out a nifty tip for landing these top-tier gigs: “Visiting job boards dedicated to these types of salaries, like Ladders or 100k Crossing… can help.”
Meanwhile, over at Fast Company, FlexJobs research confirms what we digital nomads already know: workers are ditching cubicles faster than leftover fruitcake in January. Less than 10% of employees want to be on-site full-time, and a jaw-dropping 95% want some form of remote work. The reason? It’s not just about skipping the commute. It’s about mental well-being, increased productivity, and a better work-life balance. “99% of working professionals agreed that remote and hybrid work is the best work arrangement for their mental health,” says the FlexJobs study.
This “remote revolution” isn’t just for coders or marketers. High-earning remote roles are expanding into fields like HR, operations, and even healthcare. And at the lower-stress end of the spectrum, just having the option to work hybrid or fully remote is enough to keep top talent from taking their skills elsewhere. According to FlexJobs, “67% of workers plan to change jobs in the next six months, but 34% would consider staying… if given remote work options.”
So, what does this mean for you?
