🗺 The Vibe

Hey there nomad! Kevin from Nomad for Less here, coming to you live from New York City. For this week’s edition of our newsletter, get ready to immerse yourself in the charming city of Lisbon, Portugal.

You start your day by waking up in a charming Airbnb apartment in Alfama, one of Lisbon's oldest neighborhoods, and stepping out onto your balcony to sip fresh coffee while breathing in the crisp air that overlooks the Tagus River.

You take a walk through Lisbon's historic landmarks and narrow streets while locals welcome you with warm smiles, stopping at a local cafe to eat the Pastel de Nata before settling into a coworking space to work for a few hours.

It's time for lunch, so you head to Time Out Market Lisboa, one of Lisbon's most famous food halls, where you can enjoy a tasting of different cuisines from all over Portugal. Afterward, you explore the trendy LX Factory, an old industrial complex turned creative hub filled with vintage shops, art galleries, and bars.

As night falls, you find yourself immersed in Portuguese culture by catching some live Fado music in Baixa-Chiado. For dinner, you have traditional Portuguese cuisine before heading out for drinks with friends in Barrio Alto, Lisbon's bustling nightlife district.

Lisbon is a city that never sleeps, where every moment feels like an adventure waiting to happen.

🏡 To Stay

From chic boutique hotels to budget-friendly hostels and Airbnbs, there are lots of options for accommodations in Lisbon. I’d recommend staying in areas like Alfama or Baixa if you want to be close to the city center.

✈️ To Fly

Lisbon airport is easily accessible from most major cities in Europe and North America. If you're looking for affordable flights, consider flying during off-seasons like fall or winter. Alternatively, you could also book early or look out for last-minute deals.

For flights to Europe, it’s a bit less expensive than other European cities. You can find some low-cost flights from New York, Chicago, Boston, and DC between April and May. You can find your city here (maybe you’re lucky and it’ll be one of the cheapest).
