Whether you want to immerse yourself in the local culture, explore the city's historic landmarks, or simply take in the sights, there's something to do for everybody. Here are a few must-do activities to add to your itinerary:

  • Take a tango lesson - Buenos Aires is known as the birthplace of tango, so why not learn this sultry dance form from the masters themselves?

  • Explore the street art scene - Home to some of the best street art in the world, Buenos Aires is filled with vibrant murals and graffiti adorns many of the city's buildings.

Argentina is known for its beef, but they have more to offer than just their steak dishes! Be sure not to miss out on these delicious food and drink items that are unique to this destination:

  • Empanadas - Delightful turnovers stuffed with cheese & ham, beef or chicken.

  • Asado – The gaucho barbecue-style meat feast consists of prime cuts including ribs, flank steaks, and sausages.

  • Chimichurri Sauce - This sauce will definitely be added onto your meal once you try it. Think parsley, garlic, vinegar, oil, and salt. Chimichurri can be found accompanying many Argentinian meals.

  • Alfajores - Sweet treats made from two buttery cookies sandwiched together by dulce de leche (a caramel-like spread).

  • Mate Tea - An herbal tea brewed from yerba mate leaves which are drunk through a metal straw called “bombilla”.

Buenos Aires has an unrivaled nightlife scene filled with stacks of restaurants, bars, clubs, etc. Here's our top picks:

  1. Floreria Atlántico - Speakeasy bar hidden underneath a flower shop serving cocktails crafted using premium ingredients.

  2. La Puerta Roja (The Red Door) - Located off Corrientes Avenue, the cozy atmosphere makes visitors feel like they’re at home.

  3. Don Julio Restaurant - Known for some best quality meats being grilled over charcoal, the elegant decor and nice ambience make for a fantastic fine dining experience.

  4. Alvear Roof Bar - Set atop the luxurious Alvear Palace Hotel, the Alvear Roof Bar offers spectacular views of the city and the Rio de la Plata, an extensive wine and cocktail list, and a menu of gourmet small plates.

  5. Niceto Club - One can party till dawn in this club listening to live music from rock bands, DJs and even electronic acts.

🏡 To Stay

Buenos Aires has plenty of accommodation options for digital nomads, from budget-friendly hostels to luxurious hotels. Palermo is a popular neighborhood for travelers, with plenty of trendy hotels and apartments available for short-term stays.

✈️ To Fly

The most affordable time to fly to Buenos Aires is during the winter months (June-August), when the weather is cooler and there are fewer tourists. The city's international airport (Ezeiza International Airport) is easily accessible from most major cities, with direct flights available from many locations.

The lowest cost flights are flying out of Miami, Fort Lauderdale, San Francisco, and New York. You can find your city here and see when it’s cheapest to fly there for you.
