💸 Cost Breakdown
I’m testing out a new section this week called “Cost Breakdown.” The idea here is to give you a rough estimate of how much it will cost to live in this location for a month as a digital nomad with a list of expenses (excluding flight expenses because that will differ for each reader). Let me know if you like it!
Here's a breakdown of the average monthly expenses in USD for a digital nomad living in Bengaluru:
💼 Monthly Rent - A comfortable and well-equipped studio apartment in a popular neighborhood like Indiranagar or Koramangala can cost around $500 to $800 per month, depending on the location and amenities.
🍽️ Monthly Food Costs - Bengaluru offers a variety of culinary experiences to satisfy your taste buds without burning a hole in your pocket. A monthly budget of $200 to $300 should cover your meals, including eating out at local eateries and occasional dining at mid-range restaurants.
🎉 Monthly Entertainment Costs - Exploring Bengaluru's vibrant social scene and enjoying some well-deserved downtime won't break the bank either. Budget around $100 to $200 per month for entertainment, which includes visiting cafes, attending cultural events, and exploring the city's nightlife.
🚌 Monthly Travel Costs - Bengaluru is well-connected, making it convenient to explore nearby destinations during your stay. Plan for an average monthly travel budget of $100 to $200, covering weekend getaways, transportation within the city, and occasional day trips.
💻 Monthly Co-working Space - If you prefer working from a dedicated co-working space, expect to spend around $100 to $150 per month for a flexible desk in a shared workspace with amenities like high-speed internet and complimentary coffee.
💰 Miscellaneous Expenses - It's always wise to budget for unexpected expenses and personal indulgences. Allocate around $100 to $200 per month for miscellaneous expenses like shopping, local transportation, and personal treats.
Total estimated monthly cost for one person: $1,100 - $1,850
